First Place: V. Miller: Camera captures baby's first steps

We have cameras installed indoors and outdoors covering each entryway.

I tend to leave the garage door open from time to time. When my wife comes home, she gets worried that somebody may be inside. At these times, I am able to pull up Logitech Alert on my phone and let her know that there hasn’t been any activity at the house since I left. The best use though is the ability to watch my 11-month-old twins play during the day when I am working or traveling.

My 11-month-old twins are playing while their 'grampies' watch them and our daughter decides it is a good time to take her first steps. Without the Logitech Alert system, we would have missed this precious moment. The audio shows how excited 'grampy' is about it.




 

Second Place: J. Rojas: Man caught ripping out sprinkler control wires

Our system consists of a six camera configuration of which I installed myself following the easy system installation instructions.

My wife and I were on our way home when this couple and their child were in front of our home. I didn't think much about it until I noticed our lawn sprinklers were not working and noticed the damaged sprinkler control valve wires were all ripped off. That's when I checked the camera footage. The Logitech camera caught footage of the adult male bending down at the sprinkler control box and tearing all the wires off. I called the police and provided them with a DVD copy of the captured video footage. I also identified the suspect who police later contacted and who admitted to the act of vandalism. The suspect later paid for the damage he caused.

The police detective who investigated this incident commented on the exceptional quality of the video footage captured by the Logitech camera system. Without the video footage, we could never have been able to prove who or how the damage to our sprinkler control valves was caused. Having the cameras installed has given us a great sense of security in our home and feel the security system acts as a visible deterrent to others who may be casing our home for possible criminal intent.

Third Place: J. Wright: Camera captures A theft across the street

Yesterday, my friend who lives across the street from me stopped me and told me that someone had removed the catalytic converter from his red truck. He told me it happened Monday morning, 01/22/2012. So we went in the house and checked out my security camera from Logitech. I started from midnight and looked at all the video. At 7 AM, we saw this white car pull up and shine his headlights on the truck. A person got out, walked up to the truck, crawled under the truck and removed the catalytic converter. I gave my friend a copy of the video on a USB stick and also posted it on YouTube for everyone to see.

I have three cameras. Two look at the road in front of the house and one looks at the back yard.
