WILIFE VIDEOS ONLINE
The best of WiLife customer videos can now be viewed online at YouTube, MySpace, MetaCafe, Yahoo!, and Google.
Come online and see what WiLife security system owners are catching with their cameras – criminals, vandalism, pranks, animals, accidents, natural phenomena, etc.
Restaurant Theft
View the video that police were able to use to identify and apprehend the thief, and mere minutes after his failed attempt. The police were thrilled with the
quality of the digital video and how easy it was to identify the thief and distribute the video via email with a simple right click and send.

Reseller Success with WiLife Pro
The new WiLife Pro Digital Video Surveillance line is generating
some great success stories from our early–adopter resellers. WiLife Pro is quickly becoming the mainstream product for video surveillance sales into the
SMB business community. The Reseller community (both IT VARs and Security Dealers/Installers) is quickly catching on.
Owner Moshe Braden of Salt-Lake-City-based Addtech (pictured here on the left) was contacted earlier this year and asked to bid a video surveillance system for an apartment complex in
Central Utah. After a preliminary conversation he found that the Remote viewing capability of the WiLife system was exactly what the customer needed. With five
separate apartment buildings, a club house, and a large parking lot to monitor --all separated by up to 100 feet—the HomePlug technology wasn’t the answer and the
project also appeared to be a stretch for WiLife Pro. As an experienced WiLife Dealer, Moshe knew the outstanding video quality and user-friendliness of the WiLife
Products. He was confident he could create a system for the apartment complex using WiLife.
Innovative Wireless Connection to the Outdoor Cameras
After an on site survey, he decided to add a wireless connection to the more distant parking lot cameras, and couple them into the central WiLife Pro system using the
WiLife Pro HomePlug Ethernet Bridge.
With some preliminary Web research, Moshe located Tranzeo, a wireless network technology provider at www.tranzeo.com. He ordered and set up a test system in his
office. The cameras and radios communicated seamlessly using the 2.4 GHz system which uses a portion of the spectrum that does not need FCC licensing.
Until recently, the possibility of WiLife cameras transmitting over a wireless connection was a dream, but this has become an easy proposition with the recent
release of the WiLife HomePlug bridge (WLPB -100) and Single port power injector (WLPI-X1).
WiLife Pro was the Best Fit
All Video surveillance cameras need a power source. Even the so-called “wireless’ IP cameras need a local power supply with a cable and transformer to the nearest
A-C outlet. WiLife is no exception. WiLife Pro cameras are powered over the CAT-5 Ethernet cable using the centrally-located WiLife Power Injector. WiLife’s
HomePlug cameras make use of the standard 120v A-C power source, which they also use to transmit the digitized, encrypted and compressed video data stream.
The HomePlug Bridge (WLPB -100) is a versatile component that pulls the video signal off of the 120 VAC power lines then converts and transmits the signal over a
CAT-5 Ethernet cable. This allows one to interconnect the HomePlug-based Outdoor and Spy cameras into a WiLife Pro system, connects each camera signal to a central
router (or switch), and also provides the means to connect to a wireless transmitter using an Ethernet data connection, as was done with the Addtech installation
at the apartment complex.
The single-Port Injector (WLPI-X1) makes powering a camera easy at distances up to 300 feet. It also allows a Pro Indoor camera to be remotely
mounted and communicate with a router or connect to a wireless transmitter.
Moshe quoted the system to the Complex Security manager for just over $4000.00 making a 50% margin on the equipment. He later found that providing
the same video coverage using a “competing” system would cost the landlord over $8000.00. This included some quality analog components but would
include overhead cables run to each of the cameras four remote cameras. The Security installer would run underground cables for an additional sum
because of the headache of tearing up the parking lot.
With the deal closed, Moshe started his installation. He mounted three Outdoor cameras on the poles used for lighting the parking lot and used the
HomePlug Bridge to pull the video signal off of the parking lot 120 VAC power lines. Fortunately, the three Outdoor cameras were located on the
same electrical circuit and could utilize a single Ethernet bridge which can process and convert video data streams from up to six WiLife cameras
into CAT-5 or CAT-6 Ethernet Cable.
With the aid of a simple Crossover Cable, he connected directly into the Tranzeo RF link (TR-SL2-15f-Single).
The Tranzeo system comes with its own PoE injector which needs an AC power source. The bottom line: three simple connections, and no manipulation
or complication required to get the extended distance to the outdoor cameras.
Moshe repeated this process for a single Outdoor camera located on a separate circuit and then setup two Indoor cameras in the Clubhouse where the
PC was located. The Receiving radio (Tranzeo TR-6000f-Single) was positioned on the roof of the Clubhouse and connected to the local router.
The WiLife Command Center (WiCC) software was loaded onto the local PC. The WiCC was configured to pull video off the local router, and the camera
signals appeared. The Video streamed in beautifully with clean crisp video. See the Screenshot below.

The frosting on the cake was the upgrade of the customer to WiLife Platinum software, and the security manager was trained on the use of the system.
A special thanks goes out to Addtech-Online for their innovative and expert installation. The Tranzeo transmitters integrated seamlessly with Wilife to turn an unsightly install to a picture perfect setup.
