First Place: J. Thomas: Video Security & 911 Call Thwart Home Burglary
The WiLife System was one the best purchases I have made. It was very easy to set up and the customer support was great.
After being robbed last October, I continued having a feeling that someone was entering the house without my knowledge. So I set up the video surveillance system to help figure out what was going on. Then on Wednesday April 8th, I had a strange feeling there was a problem at my house. I logged onto the live streaming feature and there was a man standing in my living room attempting to rob me again! I called 911 from 30 miles away and the police were at my home in literally 4 minutes. They had my whole house surrounded. The criminals did not get away with anything other than the cheese they ate from my refrigerator.
It was a very strange feeling watching my house being robbed and feeling helpless. But in the end, due to this system, they were unable to steal from me again and went straight to jail.
I would recommend this system to anyone who does not want to spend an arm and a leg trying to protect the things they have worked so hard for.

Second Place: T. Popp: High Winds Launch Patio Umbrella Over 2-Story House
My wife and I purchased the WiLife camera system for peace of mind. We do not have any major issues in our neighborhood. We have a bus stop across the street, however, and we want to make sure the kids don't cause too much of a ruckus. Since we have two cameras, we pointed one facing the front yard and the other one facing the back yard.
Recently, we had a very bad storm. When my wife arrived home from work that day, she noticed a large umbrella lying in the street and thought it looked like our umbrella from the patio in the back yard. Sure enough, when she checked the back yard patio, the umbrella was gone! How did the umbrella end up in the street, about 100 feet from the front of our house? More fascinating: How did the umbrella get over our two-story house and a tall fence?
Did someone jump the fence, steal it, and then dump it in the street? We were befuddled. Then, I remembered that we have the Logitech camera monitoring the back yard. So we went to our computer and started playing back the recorded footage from the day. Finally, we thought we saw something. Did we just see what we thought we saw? Did our umbrella fly over our two-story house? We played it over and again several times, even in slow motion.
High winds and rain are normally not conditions that will launch something into space. But on this day, there was an exception. Unfortunately, we had to buy a new umbrella since this one got dinged up on reentry.
Third Place: S. Probasco: Young Buck Attacks a Dummy Buck
My family gave me my Logitech video security system for Christmas so I could record the wildlife around the house while I'm not home. I have 6 outdoor cameras. Two of the cameras watch the house doors and four monitor the backyard. In my backyard, I have an automatic corn feeder that has been set up for years. And for years, all sorts of wildlife have come to eat from the feeder.
In this video I submitted, a young buck attacked the dummy-buck I had set up in the backyard. What I like about the video is the amount of force the deer used to drive the dummy into the ground; followed by the buck’s confused look at seeing the head and legs strewn about.
