April 2009 Customer Success Story Winners
First Place: C. Piroli, The Heating & Cooling Thief
My name is C. Piroli. My family owns a Heating and Cooling Company in Connecticut. Last year, around May, we purchased a 6-camera Outdoor System from your company because we had several of our trucks broken into and copper wiring stolen from inside. We had security companies come in and give us prices to install security systems. The cost of these systems ranged anywhere from $3,000 to $12,000, which was ridiculous for what we could afford. Being good with computers, I found your system. In one day, we had the whole system up and running and ready to catch the thief.
The crime captured by the Logitech security cameras in this video occurred April 28, 2008. I had the cameras linked through the Internet right to the computer in my bedroom. At 3:48 A.M. I was awakened by the alarm that alerted motion on the cameras. I logged into my account to see what my cameras were seeing. I saw a man in a hooded sweatshirt with a bag and a bar. I phoned the local police (who we notified beforehand of these robberies). It was 3:49 A.M. At 3:51, they called me to say they had him in custody.
The cameras caught everything - from the minute he entered the warehouse property, walked over to the trucks, broke the lock, opened the door, placed the bent copper in his bag, to being tackled to the ground and carried away in handcuffs.
We can't explain how happy we are with this product. We recommend it to anyone. In fact, we have put them in both our homes.
I really want to thank your company on behalf of my self and our company. We have nothing but good experience with your system. We would love for you to share our story with everyone was an example on how great your product works.
Note: The thief has been locked up in prison since April 28, 2008. He was charged on several misdemeanors and one felony. He was sentenced on November 15, 2008 on Burglary 3rd Deg. Class D Felony and sentenced to 5 years jail, execution suspended after 18 months, and conditional discharge after 3 years.

Second Place: J. Bovina, Neighborhood Crime Watch
My name is J. Bivona. My neighborhood has had several car break-ins during the summer. As a concerned citizen, I wanted to do something. I was not going to sit around and be a victim. So I purchased a Logitech WiLife video security system. A few weeks after I installed my cameras, I became a victim myself. I caught someone trying to break into my car. I turned it over to the police and they loved the quality of the footage. Within a few more weeks, the same thing happened again. So I contacted the local news and they had a great story about these two events. It aired as a top story.
A month later, I caught an attempted home invasion across the street. So I contacted the news station again and they ran this story:
This story was also aired as a top news feature. After the second story aired, it seemed to stop the problems in my neighborhood. Thanks Logitech WiLife.
Third Place: J. Morgan, Visiting Bobcats in Tucson
I had purchased the WiLife system for general security. I wanted to be able to see what was happening at my house while I was at work. I have a friend who purchased some cameras after seeing mine. She uses them to keep an eye on her mother, who has alzheimer's, while she is at work.
My wife kept being awakened in the middle of the night because the motion sensor light mounted outside by their bedroom window kept coming on. Because of the portability of the Logitech cameras, I relocated one of the Indoor cameras to the bedroom window. This video is what we found. (Watch video.)
We continued to monitor the cats for a couple of weeks until they finally moved on. My wife named the mother, Fluffy. (Fluffy came back the following year and had 2 more kittens on our deck. We have tons of vids.)
